Student Council Treasurer
As Student Council Treasurer, I managed the council’s funds, organized fundraising activities, and evaluated funding proposals from clubs to support their initiatives.
Serving as the Student Council Treasurer was more than just crunching numbers. It was like being the CFO of the school but with way more spreadsheets. I was responsible for managing the Student Council’s funds, organizing fundraising activities, and setting the pricing structure for the products we sold. Every decision required balancing costs, tracking profits, and making sure our spending stayed on track. I got to dive into spreadsheets, meticulously organizing where every dollar went, how much profit we made, and what expenses to prioritize or cut back on. It was a constant puzzle, but one I really enjoyed solving.
Before all of that, though, I had to run for this position. And it wasn’t just handed to me. I campaigned hard, earning enough votes to secure the role, which was a rewarding experience in itself. One of my favorite parts of being Treasurer was working with other clubs. They’d pitch their ideas and request funding, and I got to evaluate their proposals with the rest of the Student Council. Helping these clubs get the resources they needed was always satisfying. Managing the finances wasn’t just about numbers. It was about supporting student initiatives and making sure our funds had the greatest impact on the school community.
